Pyramide has been on our bucket list for at least fifteen years. Mr. Henriroux’s efforts to improve the situation have left a lasting impression on us. The garden, as well as the new hotel, restaurant, and café, are just beautiful. Troisgros, for example, is not as overstated as some other Michelins. Here, the emphasis is not on ‘us,’ but rather on providing a positive client experience.
The hotel room was really spacious and pleasant. The receptionist was quite friendly.
The meal was really great, and there were a few surprises, such as the bacon, cheese, and tomato custard, which were all quite good. I haven’t had a good pigeon in a very long time. Starting with a good half bottle of white St. Joseph for 32 euros, and then a beautiful bottle of Sang de Cailloux Cuvee de Lopy to compliment the meats for another excellent bottle of wine for 32 euros.
What makes the meal even better is that Mr. Henriroux has put together a fantastic team of people that work smoothly together. His sommelier, a young (female) professional, is quite informed. The remainder of the restaurant’s personnel is also really pleasant.
To top it all off, the one-night stay package is really reasonable in terms of price.
