The Montgomerie was a delightful place to stay. Two alternatives were offered as part of a nicely presented prix fixe menu (one with several less courses than the other). The meal quality was excellent, the presentation was gorgeous, and the service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend it.
We were sharing a room with another couple at the time. Unfortunately, the guy was quite belligerent during the dinner, claiming that the wine was “crap” and disparaging the waitstaff on many occasions. In the future, visitors who behave in this manner should be asked to leave the restaurant and should not be permitted to return (or enter the hotel again). We were compelled to leave the restaurant as quickly as possible as a result of his disrespectful and unpleasant conduct. The evening before his arrival had been absolutely great. Guests that treat service employees with such disdain must be held responsible since they are creating a sour atmosphere for the rest of the evening’s guests. In the event that this guy learns that his conduct will not be accepted, it is less likely that he would behave inappropriately in future situations.
With the exception of the poisoned guy who happened to be sitting in the same room as us, there are no complaints about the restaurant, the cuisine, or the service. It is just my wish that he does not have the chance to spoil anybody else’s wonderful evening. We were upset that the restaurant did little to alleviate his ongoing belittling of the personnel as we left the establishment.
